چکیده
The bat genus Sturnira is widely distributed in the Neotropical region, from northwestern Mexico to northern Argentina, and four species occur Brazil: lilium, giannae, magna, tildae. present study first record tildae state of Maranhão, Brazil, based on morphological molecular diagnoses. specimen was identified its cranial morphometric traits. diagnostic traits include discreetly bilobed inner upper incisors with a broad base, lower second molars lingual cusps separated by shallow grooves, forearm longer than 45 mm. sequences Cytochrome C Oxidase Subunit 1 (COI) 16S rRNA genes confirmed identification thus occurrence Amazon biome Maranhão. This represents an eastward extension known distribution Amazonia, Cândido Mendes, within area dominated dense rainforest influenced tides.

Reproductive biology of the bat Sturnira lilium (Chiroptera, Phyllostomidae) in the Atlantic Forest of Rio de Janeiro, southeastern Brazil.
Bats can be monoestrous or polyestrous, and seasonal or non-seasonal in their reproductive patterns. The strategy adopted by each species or population depends on the regional climate. The objective this study was to analyze reproductive data of Sturnira lilium from long-term sampling carried out in several sites in Rio de Janeiro states, southeastern Brazil. We carried out sampling in 42 sites...

This species occurs mainly in altitudes up to 1,300 m a.s.l. Vampyressa pusilla was captured during the whole night, from 18 minutes before sunset to 759 minutes after sunset. Captures peaked in the first two hours of the night. Reproductive act...

متن کاملDiversification of the yellow-shouldered bats, genus Sturnira (Chiroptera, Phyllostomidae), in the New World tropics.
The Yellow-shouldered bats, Genus Sturnira, are widespread, diverse, and abundant throughout the Neotropical Region, but little is known of their phylogeny and biogeography. We collected 4409 bp of DNA from three mitochondrial (cyt-b, ND2, D-loop) and two nuclear (RAG1, RAG2) sequences from 138 individuals representing all but two recognized species of Sturnira and five other phyllostomid bats ...
متن کاملSystematics of Sturnira (Chiroptera: Phyllostomidae) in Ecuador, with comments on species boundaries.
Molecular and morphological analyses of variation often conflict with historical species descriptions based on a few characters and small samples sizes. Here we present a molecular phylogeny together with a quantitative morphologica analysis of the species in Sturnira in Ecuador. The 438 terminal taxa or organisms included in the anlaysis occur within a total of 10 ingroup lineages, which conta...
